A dielectric ceramic contains a primary constituent represented by general formula (1): a[(SrbCa1-b)TiO3]-(1-a)[Bi2O3.nTiO2] (wherein a and b indicate molar amounts, and n indicates a molar ratio of TiO2 to Bi2O3), and a secondary constituent represented by general formula (2): xMgTiO3+yMnOm+zLn2O3 (wherein x, y, and z indicate weight per 100 parts by weight of the primary constituent, m is 1 to 2, and Ln is at least one of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, and Er), wherein a, b, n, x, y, and z satisfy the expressions 0.88<=a<=0.92, 0.30<=b<=0.50, 1.8<=n<=3.0, 1.0<=x<=3.0, 0.1<=y<=2.0, and 0<z<=3.0. A ceramic electronic component including the dielectric ceramic is also disclosed.
