FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. ^ SUBSTANCE: formaldehyde is produced via oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol with air oxygen at high temperature on silver-containing in fixed-bed reactor enclosing gas stream distributor followed by absorption of resultant reaction gases to form methanolic formalin, which is further rectified.
