Coating for application or transfer to a flat object is formed from a transparent or pigmented material and comprises a base coat of uniform thickness over the whole area of the coating and lines of covering material imparting increased thickness to the base layer in predetermined regions. An independent claim is also included for a scraper (3) for applying a coating as above onto a substrate (2), which is either the flat object or a transfer sheet, comprising an outer edge (31) with indentations (32) of predetermined depth, width and position for applying the lines (12) of covering material onto the base coat (11). |
