The invention relates to a mask for facial treatments, which can be applied directly to the user's skin and which has improved organoleptic properties. The invention also relates to a method of preparing the product which is used as a base for said mask. The aforementioned product comprises two distinct, separate phases which are mixed at the moment of application. Each phase comprises a set of components which provide same with the appearance of a gel or suspension respectively, such that, when combined, the phases form a real emulsion. The method of preparing each of the phases involves different steps consisting in mixing and combining the respective components thereof using stirring and kneading devices, the actuation of said devices corresponding to pre-determined periods of time. The application is performed for a maximum time of the order of 4 or 5 minutes and the polymerisation or hardening is achieved in a minimum time of the order of 15 minutes.
