The device has a helical spring (30) with a cylindrical body and having at ends, an axial rod and an end clamp to be connected on associated flanges (34, 36) of a fixed vehicle body (12) and of a trunk lid (10), respectively. A cylindrical tubular protective hollow shaft (40) surrounds the body, and is fixed axially on the spring. The shaft has a hole arranged near its axial end. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
