The procedure consists of using a drainage column (1) extending from the ground surface (2) to a point below the level of the ground water (4) surface, passing the water through a filtration system (10) inside the column and establishing a closed-circuit flow that passes up outside the column and down inside it through inlets (5) and the filtration system, in which the pollutants are extracted. The circulating flow, which also extracts pollutants from the ground layer, can be assisted by a submerged pump powered by solar-generated electricity, while a non-return element (15) at the lower end of the column prevents the water from the filtration system outlet pipe (14) from rising back up the column.
