The commutator has a set of metal segments (12) arranged on a circumference of a support ring (11), and set of capacitors arranged between the support ring and the metal segments. The support ring has notches to receive the metal segments, and defines a slot between each segment. The metal segments are insulated from each other by the ring and slots, and have hook units for connecting the segments to a rotor winding.
