The engine has a closed enclosure (30) confining fuel leaks and delimited by a lower wall (32) and by a hood (34). The hood extends above connecting zones (29) between fuel supply pipes (24) and fuel e.g. diesel, injectors (16). Base walls (60, 62) of retainers (48, 50) of the enclosure have outflow ports (64, 66) that communicate with an exhaust pipe (68) for allowing the leaks to flow outside a cylinder head.
