PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductor being one made of a new fullerene dielectric, having high proton conductivity in a non-humidified state and also easy in its production. SOLUTION: The proton conductor made of a fullerene dielectric in which at least one organic group having a dissociative acid group expressed by general formula (I) is jointed to a fullerene molecule through a hetero atom X selected from an oxygen atom and a sulfur atom. In formula (I), R is an alkylene group, Y is the hetero atom selected from the oxygen atom and sulfur atom, m is 0 or 1, Ar is an aromatic group, D is the dissociative acid group, n is 1 or 2, and a hydrogen atom on a carbon atom of the alkylene group may be substituted with a fluorine atom.
