PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an erasing device capable of surely erasing radiation energy left in a stimulable phosphor panel, having simple constitution and capable of extending the service life of an erasing light source. SOLUTION: The lighting integration time of the erasing light source is read out from a lighting integration time storage part 60, the light quantity deterioration rate of the erasing light source is read out from a light quantity deterioration rate table storage part 62 on the basis of the lighting integration time, the erasure carrier speed of the stimulable phosphor sheet in an erasure unit is calculated from the light quantity deterioration rate, and erasure processing is performed while carrying the stimulable phosphor sheet at the calculated erasure carrier speed.
