PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the operation efficiency for loading a cassette by constituting the cassette so that the cassette has no restriction on its insertion direction when being inserted into an image scanner. SOLUTION: In the cassette 10, a cover 14 is separatively attached to an housing 12 where a storage phosphor sheet IP is arranged, and a lock mechanism 16 which switches the cover 14 between a fixed state wherein the cover 14 is fixed to the housing 12 in one body and a fixation reset state wherein the fixed state is reset is provided in the housing 12. Then the storage phosphor sheet IP can be read or erased by separating the cover 14 from the housing 12 from whichever direction, one side of the cassette 10 into which a 1st press part 60 of the lock mechanism 16 is inserted or the other side of the cassette 10 into which a 2nd press part 76 of the lock mechanism 16 is inserted, the cassette 10 is inserted into the image scanner.
