PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize suitable actuation while suppressing increase of the total length in a lash adjuster installed in a valve system of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The lash adjuster is equipped with a plunger body 16 having a cylinder part 16a and a bottom part 16b for blocking the cylinder part 16a, a plunger 18 which has a cylinder part 18a and in which an outer wall of the cylinder part 18a is arranged so as to be slidable with an inner wall of the cylinder part 16a in the plunger body 16, and a guide wall 22 which is arranged in the cylinder part 18a in the plunger 18 so as to be slidable with the inner wall of the cylinder part 18a in the plunger 18.
