PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookbinding device which aims at a high positioning precision of a cover by simplifying the construction/working of the device and arranging so that the device can be manipulated in a foolproof manner; and enables the book body to be easily set in a clamping part of the device regardless of the wieldy hand of an operator. SOLUTION: In this bookbinding device, a cover positioning transfer part 600 is provided which positions/disposes the cover 920 on a cover bonding nipping part 400 by setting the forward end side of the cover 920 in place on the cover bonding nipping part 400 while pushing the rear end side way deep inside by a predetermined distance. In addition, the book body 910 is set in the clamping part 100, then conveyed onto the cover attaching nipping part 400 by a clamper conveyance part 700 and the cover 920 and the book body 910 are bonded together into a book 900.
