PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing device which can efficiently crush rocks, concrete blocks, etc., with small power. SOLUTION: A wedge 1 of the crushing device is constructed such that an end face at an upper edge 2 is elliptical (or circular) and an end face at a lower edge 3 is circular, and that an external side surface from the upper edge 2 to the lower edge 3 is tapered. The wedge 1 is inserted into a pair of counter wedges 6 which each have a half-circular shape in plan view but makes up an annular structure by the pair structure. The wedge 1 comes in contact with an internal side surface of the arched planar shape of the counter wedge 6 via two minute areas at both elliptical edges thereof in a major axial direction X. In this state, by pressing the wedge 1 by a cylinder, the counter wedge 6 is expanded in the major axial direction X of the elliptical wedge 1, to thereby crush a rock. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
