PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water permeable nonwoven fabric capable of preventing a powder from leaking, and from absorbing moisture due to the powder, and further making it easy that water is permeated through the fabric in the thickness direction. SOLUTION: This water permeable nonwoven fabric 12 is formed out of a dry-type nonwoven fabric containing 30 wt% or more of a thermally fused fiber, wherein a fiber density of the nonwoven fabric 12 is set up to 0.5-0.8 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and a thickness thereof is set up to 0.1-1.0 mm. The dry-type nonwoven fabric is preferably composed of a fiber having a fineness of 0.8-2.2 dtex. The water permeable nonwoven fabric 12 is utilized as a heat generating material 11 for reheating various kinds of processed foods which have been already cooked. The heat generating material 11 is composed of a container bag 13 and a powder which is received in the container bag 13. The container bag 13 is given by piling one of two pieces of the water permeable nonwoven fabrics 12 on the other and heat-sealing the water permeable nonwoven fabrics 12 along their peripheral edges in the piled state, so as to form the fabrics into a bag shape.
