An electronic memory device, such as an EEPROM is connected to an overcurrent trigger. Data are transmitted via a data line (35) to the electronic overvoltage trigger. If the data are detected as being incorrect on arrival, the power supply to the memory device (15) is interrupted or a short time by an electronic switch (34). An independent claim is included for a circuit.
