The proposed method for determining an optical oscillation equiamplitude line consists in dividing the coherent optical radiation flux into two parallel beams, focusing the beams at two points of the controlled surface, generating an interference pattern for the optical oscillations that are normally reflected from the surface, and determining the oscillation amplitude by the variation of the intensity of the interference fringes as a function of time. The method is distinctive by rotating one of the beams relative to the optical axis, determining the point of the equiamplitude line as a point on the surface at which the relative oscillation amplitude is zero, displacing the controlled surface relative to the optical axis so that the point with zero oscillation amplitude is at the optical axis, and repeating the said operations in order to determine the other points of the equiamplitude line.
