<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a serious situation such as a failure caused by the continuous rotation necessary for the cleaning of an intermediate transfer body. <P>SOLUTION: When winding-jamming occurs on the intermediate transfer body 12, when an emergency stop instruction signal for instantly stopping the apparatus is received, when the failure of an intermediate transfer body driving roller 18 occurs, and when a door is opened through which the user can touch a driving part, the apparatus is stopped without cleaning toner on the intermediate transfer body. Besides, in the midst of carrying a paper to a position where the user can easily take out the paper after the occurrence of jamming/reception of the emergency stop instruction signal/failure/door opening, also, when the winding-jamming on the intermediate transfer body occurs in the midst of cleaning the toner on the intermediate transfer body, also, when the emergency stop instruction signal for instantly stopping the apparatus is received, when the failure of the intermediate transfer body driving part occurs, and also, when the door is opened through which the user can touch the driving part, the apparatus is instantly stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
