<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where a toner image on an image carrier is appropriately transferred to recording paper even when excess toner adheres to the image carrier because of fogging. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a rotating image carrier roll 11, an exposure part 13 exposing the surface of the roll 11, so as to form an electrostatic latent image on the surface, a developing device 14 sticking toner to the electrostatic latent image on the surface of the roll 11, so as to form the toner image on the surface, a transfer roll 15 transferring the toner image to the recording paper by bringing the recording paper into press-contact with the toner image formed on the surface of the roll 11 and finally carried to a transfer position 15a while conveying it, and an adjusting part which negates the distortion of the toner image caused at the time of transfer by the transfer roll 15 due to the toner adhering to a non-image area excepting an image area where the electrostatic latent image is formed out of the surface of the roll 11 consequently by adjusting the length of the electrostatic latent image in the rotating direction of the roll 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
