摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device with high, stable emission intensity, that is, a light emitting device in which the emission intensity of a red phosphor does not change significantly and its luminance as well as its balance when mixed with blue and green phosphors is kept despite some deviation in its emission wavelength in the case where an LED or an LD having a luminescence peak of 380 nm to 410 nm is used as the exciting light source of the light emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device comprises: a phosphor which has Eu<SP>3+</SP>as an emission center ion, a minimum emission intensity, within an excitation wavelength range of 380 nm to 410 nm in an excitation spectrum, of at least 65% of a maximum emission intensity, and an emission efficiency at 400 nm of at least 20%; and a semiconductor light emitting element that emits light in a near-ultraviolet-ray through visible-ray region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
