<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter that requires no additional preparation of a thrombus suction catheter, as conventionally does, because a guide wire lumen can be also used for thrombus suction without damaging the basic performance of the balloon catheter. <P>SOLUTION: A balloon catheter (1) is made to have a cross section (S2) of a second lumen (5) of a shaft tube (2) as S2: 150 to 200 against a cross section (S1) of a first lumen (4) as S1: 100.
