PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function limiting system in which use of an apparatus is not forbidden extensively by disconnecting a power supply when use of a portable device must be limited at a specific place or under a specific situation but only a function requiring limitation is limited and other function can be used. SOLUTION: The function limiting system comprises a combination of a portable device 1 having a wireless function, and a limit signal sender 3. The limit signal sender 3 is arranged to send a signal for limiting use of a specific function of the portable device 1. The portable device 1 is provided with a means 23 for disabling only the specific function of the portable device indicated by the function limit signal upon receiving the function limit signal transmitted from the limit signal sender 3.
