摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor that is high in electrostatic capacity by controlling the growth of generated etching pit optimally. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an electrode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is used to apply an AC current to an aluminum foil in an electrolyte and etch it through multiple steps. In this case, the waveform of the AC current to be applied is linearly increased from an amplitude of zero to a maximum amplitude A1 at time t1, and it is linearly decreased from the maximum amplitude A1 to an amplitude A2 that is 0.1-0.5 times the maximum amplitude A1, at time t2, and then the amplitude becomes zero, which forms a half waveform. Thus, the waveform of one cycle becomes peak-to-peak symmetrical. The current waveform of early etching treatment is made longer in the time t2 of the half wave than in the time t1 thereof, and as the following etching treatment is conducted, the time t1 of the half wave is made longer than the early etching treatment and the time t2 is made shorter.
