PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus system and an access control method capable of optimum access limitation. SOLUTION: The bus system relating to this invention is provided with a plurality of masters 1, a plurality of slaves 3 and a multilayer switch 3. The bus system is further provided with an access limitation register 4 to which access limitation information can be set by a predetermined secure master 1. The multilayer switch 2 is provided with an intra-switch master part 20 and an intra-switch slave part 21. In the case of access from the master to the slave, the intra-switch master part corresponding to the master other than the secure master determines whether or not it is the access to an access limitation area on the basis of the address information of an access destination and the access limitation information stored in the access limitation register.
