PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic roller having uniform magnetic characteristics in a longitudinal direction and which is advantageous to image characteristics, suitable to use as a developing roller having poles of high magnetic characteristics, especially, as an SLIC developing roller for a two-component developing apparatus. SOLUTION: In the case of the magnetic roller which is manufactured by arranging a magnet block in a magnetic roller groove, the uniform magnetic characteristics can be obtained by increasing the volume of the magnet part having low magnetic characteristics. Regarding the long-sized magnet block, in the case of compression molding, the magnetic characteristics in the longitudinal direction tend to become uneven, but, by arranging a projecting part on the bottom surface of the magnet block being shown in Fig., the magnetic characteristics in the longitudinal direction can be made uniform.
