PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can calibrate a plurality of color monitors to the completely-same state while the influence of environmental light is reflected, and can suppress the trouble of measurement to the minimum. SOLUTION: First, one color monitor is selected as a reference color monitor among a plurality of color monitors (Step S1). Next, the reference color monitor selected in Step S1 is subjected to calibration in which the influence of environmental light is reflected, using a visual or non-contact type colorimetric instrument as a measuring means (Step S2). Then, the white and gradation reproduction property set by the calibration are measured using a contact type colorimetric instrument, and those colorimetric values are saved (Step S3). Next, the color monitors other than the reference color monitor are subjected to calibration using the contact colorimetric instrument by a measuring means (Step S4).
