PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe of high measuring accuracy which can reduce reverberation in a wedge produce noise picked up by a vibrator and make the echo signal from a reflecting source clear. SOLUTION: In the ultrasonic probe 1, equipped with the wedge 3 provided in contact with the flaw detection surface 2a of an object 2 to be inspected, the vibrator 4 arranged on the inclined surface 3a formed to the wedge 3 to emit ultrasonic waves to the object 2 to be inspected and the damper 5 provided on the vibrator 4 to suppress the vibration of the vibrator 4; the wedge 3 is formed into a shape keeping away the reflected waves R of ultrasonic waves U reflected from the flaw detecting surface 2a from the vibrator 4 and a return part 6 which is a part of the wedge is provided, in contact with the damper 5.
