An operating or transmission machine comprises an input shaft (5) adapted to be connected to a mechanical member (8) of a drive unit (7), and an adaptor member (9) operationally interposed between the input shaft (5) and the mechanical member (8). The adaptor member and the input shaft comprise complementary engagement means (23,27) which face one another at the front and can be reciprocally engaged with one another to transmit a movement of rotation, imparted in use to the adaptor member from the mechanical member and from the adaptor member to the input shaft.
