IMAGE SCANNER, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND DEW CONDENSATION PREVENTION METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner for positively removing and preventing dew condensation generated on a transparent plate (platen) caused by mounting various types of document feeders without providing any special means such as a heater.

SOLUTION: An exposure lamp 7 for image scan is used to remove and prevent dew condensation. A document feeder is mounted to move a scanner 15 with a light source mounted thereon to a position where tight adhesiveness of a cushion material 33 having a warmth retaining effect becomes weak and dew condensation becomes easy to occur. The light source is electrified while stopping the scanner at said position, and a transparent plate (platen) is heated. Methods of lighting and electrification are intermittent lighting and intermittent electrification, thereby suppressing power consumption.
