PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance system which can be easily understood by a driver by looking around the landscape through the vehicle window. SOLUTION: The route guidance system 10 for outputting the route guidance using map information and present positional information of the vehicle comprises a photographing camera 2 for acquiring the peripheral image data; a route guidance information extraction part 110 for extracting the route guidance information element being a usable information element as a route guidance land mark from the image data; a route guidance process part 120b which creates route guidance information to be used for the route guidance from the route guidance element, and outputs the route guidance by performing voice synthesizing, character displaying, and the image compositing.
