PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of simultaneously applying a light weight characteristic, high-speed durability, a road surface envelope characteristic, a comfortable riding characteristic and a floating characteristic at driving on muddy ground. SOLUTION: A fiber reinforced rubber layer 18 formed having many bundles of reinforced fibers 18A is arranged between a textile radial carcass at a crown and a tread layer. The reinforced fibers 18A constituting the fiber reinforced rubber layer 18 are made of twisted chords or filaments and their extending directions are substantially extended along the circumference of the tire. A plurality of split segments 20 formed along the circumference of the tire are formed at each of the reinforced fibers 18A constituting the fiber reinforced rubber layer 18. Non-split segments of the reinforced fibers 18A are present not less than 30% of the total number of reinforced fibers 18A aligned in the fiber reinforced rubber layer 18 at any region on the circumference of the tire.
