PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing a purified bisphenol A by which the method is improved so as to reduce the utilities in a crystallization step. SOLUTION: The method for producing the purified bisphenol A comprises crystallizing an adduct of the bisphenol A and phenol by cooling a crystallization feedstock containing the bisphenol A, dissolving the crystallized adduct in the phenol, cooling the solution to crystallize the adduct of the bisphenol A and the phenol, separating the crystallized adduct from the mother liquor, and removing the phenol from the recovered adduct. When dissolving the crystallized adduct in the phenol, an amount corresponding to 5-70 wt.% of the adduct is dissolved in the method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
