PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crack inspection method of a rail capable of discovering simply and surely a crack generated on the rail, especially a crack on a joint part, and discovering surely a crack on a high place portion difficult to be approached. SOLUTION: This crack inspection method is used for the rail R constituted by being connected with a plurality of hollow pipe members 1. Pressurized air is enclosed in the hollow part 2 of the rail R, and decline of the pressure of the sealed pressurized air in a prescribed inspection time is detected, to thereby detect a crack on the rail R.
