PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an initialization to reduce an error between the opening of an electronic expansion valve recognized by a controller and the actual opening thereof at a reasonable timing without affecting a load applied to a freezer. SOLUTION: This freezer comprises the controller 5 determining based on the degree of the opening/closing operations of the electronic expansion valve 3 whether the initialization of the electronic expansion valve is required or not and, when the load is smaller than the set value, performing the initialization of the electronic expansion valve.
