PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a platen, pushed up by a supporting spring, from being plastically deformed with time. SOLUTION: This recorder is equipped with: a recording head which performs recording on an object to be recorded, while reciprocating on the object to be recorded; a gap holding part which pushes down the object to be recorded, so as to hold a desired gap between a recording head and the object to be recorded; the platen which is curved by being pushed down by the object to be recorded, so as to form the gap between the recording head and the object to be recorded, and which is provided in such a manner as to face the recording head; the supporting spring which supports the platen by pushing up the platen from below; and a platen height regulating part which is provided in the same position as the supporting spring in the direction of the reciprocation of the recording head and the direction of the conveyance of the object to be recorded, and which regulates the upper limit of the height of the platen.
