PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mammography apparatus which is equipped with a scanning exposure means with a line light source for outputting read light and reduces fluctuations of the volume of the read light emitted on an image recording medium. SOLUTION: A luminescent image for the read light L output from a line light source 101 comprising each LED chip 101a, 101b is limited at an opening part 102a of a slit 102, and the direction in which the read light L is output is slanted toward a wall surface 23 on the side of a chest wall of a casing 22 by a louver 110. The read light L is collected in the direction of Y by cylindrical lenses 104, 105, and is emitted on an electrostatic recording medium 10 as line light extending in the direction of Z. Since the direction in which the read light L is output is slanted toward the wall surface 23, the end sagging of the optical intensity of the read light emitted at end parts on the side of the wall surface 23 of the electrostatic recording medium 10 is prevented.
