The vehicle lighting system has a driving light section (1.1) to produce a dipped beam and/or a full beam, as well as a boundary light section (1.2) to produce a boundary light. A light guide system (4) disconnects a part (3.1) of the light beam from the driving light section and connects it to the boundary light section. The boundary light through the connected light beam (7.1,7.2) can be adapted to the dipped beam and/or full beam with regard to colour and/or colour temperature and/or brightness and/or homogeneity.
