A METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE BASIC ALUMINIUM SULFATE COAGULANT

The invention relates to the technology of inorganic substances, in particular to production of sulfuric aluminium salts, which can be used as coagulants for the purification of potable and waste waters. The task of the invention is an increase in the coagulant quality due to lowering the insoluble residue therein with use of low reaction initial raw material. The task is resolved by a method for the preparation of coagulant which consists in the treatment of aluminium hydroxide with sulfuric acid at a portion incorporation of sulfuric acid for the time which is 40-50 % of the time of boiling, at that the first portion is incorporated simultaneously to aluminium hydroxide, and subsequent ones are incorporated with a time interval. The realization of the proposed agent increases the basic aluminium sulfate coagulant quality due to the reduction of insoluble residue up to 0.41-1.45 %.
