<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a striking position measuring method whereby only a deviation amount resulting from a recording head whose feeding error caused by a carriage or a moving means for a recording medium is eliminated can be extracted, and moreover a deviation amount resulting from an arrangement manner of a recording medium can be eliminated by measuring a striking position deviation by the same apparatus as an apparatus which prints an evaluation pattern, and to provide a striking position measuring apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This method comprises: a position detection process of detecting a position of a recording head; a process of performing image recording onto the recording medium on the basis of the position in a main scanning direction of the recording head detected in the position detection process; and a process of exchanging the recording head with an image capturing means for capturing the image on the recording medium at a mounting position of the recording head in the carriage, and of detecting a striking position of ink dots discharged from a plurality of nozzles from a captured image obtained by the image capturing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
