PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium capable of simultaneously recording/reproducing a plurality of real-time data, a method for simultaneous recording/reproducing, and an information recording/reproducing method. SOLUTION: According to the method for simultaneous recording and reproducing, the maximum size of an unused area permitted in the area of a predetermined size is set. For an area for recording/reproducing real-time data, conditions for simultaneous recording and reproducing are set to satisfy the condition of making a recording buffer empty or a reproducing buffer full by at least one access operation and two recording/reproducing operations at the most. By using a recording area based on these conditions, a recording operation and a reproducing operation are switched according to the data amounts of the recording and reproducing buffers.
