PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver which is capable of preparing new program guide information even without newly acquiring the program guide information. SOLUTION: A terrestrial digital broadcast receiver 10 comprises: an antenna 11 and digital broadcast reception section 12 for acquiring, from the outside, EPG data including a series descriptor that is information relating to a series of programs; and an EPG data storage and generation section 14 for storing EPG data and generating new EPG data based on the series descriptor in the EPG data.
