发明名称 METHOD FOR DETECTING FOCAL DISTANCE AND FOCUSING DEVICE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a focal distance by using color information and then perform focusing. SOLUTION: Image data on luminance and respective colors R (red), G (green) and B (blue) are generated from photographed image data in an image processing circuit 15. The image data used for focusing is selected out of the image data on the luminance and the respective colors automatically or in response to photographer's operation, and also weighted amount for the image data is set. While an optical system 11 is driven to change the focal distance, a plurality of image data are photographed. The focal distance is calculated for every selected image data. Weighting is performed to the calculated focal distances respectively so as to calculate the final focal distance. By using the appropriate image data on the color, it is possible to perform range-finding even to the subject whose distance can not be measured only with the luminance, and the subjects whose focusing control a photographer is not good at are reduced, and the subject is focused by accurately measuring its distance.
