PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping apparatus capable of suppressing oscillation by earthquake by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A disk 55 and a disk 59 are disposed at a rotating connection part so as to be rotated relative to each other. A spherical body 61 having damping performance is held between the disk 55 and the disk 59 and compressingly deformed. Accordingly, when the disk 55 and the disk 59 are rotated relative to each other, damping action is developed by the combination of the elastic deformation of the spherical body 61, the shearing deformation thereof by rolling, or a frictional resistance between the disk 55 and the disk 59.
