PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for controlling autonomous travelling of a vehicle for making a vehicle autonomously travel by using a low cost sensor in a DGPS and the like and reducing its travelling error. SOLUTION: The system computes an azimuth by the difference of positioning signals by a GPS receiver 201, computes a speed and a travelling distance on the basis of the number of rotations of the left and right drive wheels, computes the azimuth error and travelling error by comparing the computed azimuth and distance with a target route, computes the operation amount of the left and right drive wheels on the basis of the computed azimuth error and travelling error and controls the increase/decrease of the rotation speed of the drive wheels.
