PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe peptide having cell death-inhibiting activities and cell proliferation-promoting activities, and capable of being easily produced. SOLUTION: The peptide is selected from the group consisting of the following (a) to (c): (a) a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence represented by sequence number 1; (b) a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence obtained by deleting, substituting, inserting or adding one or several amino acids from, with or to the amino acid sequence of the (a), and having the cell death-inhibiting activities and/or the cell proliferation-promoting activities; and (c) a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence having at least 80% homology with the peptide having the amino acid sequence of the (a), and having the cell death-inhibiting activities and/or the cell proliferation-promoting activities.
