A respirator consists of a semi-mask made of filtering or sorptive-and-filtering material, an obturator, a strangulator, and a hood. The hood comprises at least one elastic cord and is attached to the external surface of the semi-mask on its opposing sides with the aid of the hot-melt adhesive. The design of the respirator provides for reducing the time required for its assembly and improving the protective efficacy of the respirator.
