<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the height of an automatic original transfer device 3 to make the device compact and simplify the configuration thereof in an original reader, having a U-turned shape original transfer path, by which an original D is exited to a horizontal exit paper tray 14 located above a paper feeding tray 13. <P>SOLUTION: An inlet roller 15, a separating roller 16, and a large-diameter reversing roller 20 are arranged on the upper surface of a pressing plate 10, and a reading means 8 is provided beneath the reversing roller 20 with a glass plate 6 sandwiched in between the inverting roller 20 and the reading means. The paper feed tray 13 is nearly horizontally disposed above the glass plate 6. An inlet nip piece 17 and a separating pad 18 elastically abutting the upper surfaces of the inlet roller 15 and the separating roller 16 respectively, and an exit paper auxiliary guide plate 29 above them are arranged nearly horizontal with the arrangement height of the plate 29, being smaller than the height of the large-diameter inverting roller 20. Two pinch rollers 22, 23, elastically abutting against the peripheral surface of the inverting roller 20 on the exit side, are arranged on the inner surface of a covering lid 19 capable of opening and closing and having nearly L-shaped side cross-section and make the order of deposition of the original exited on the exit paper tray 14 correct. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
