PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide insertion paper which is used for glass, can easily impart high cleanliness, and can exhibit good workability, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This insertion paper used for glass is characterized by being produced from a paper material obtained by beating natural pulp having an average fiber length of 1.6 to 2.5 mm and containing short fibers having fiber lengths of≤0.3 mm in an amount of≤7.0 wt. % until to give a Canadian standard freeness (CSF) of 600 to 750 mL, and having an average fiber length of 1.6 to 2.5 mm. The insertion paper for the glass is inserted between glass substrates, when the glass substrates constituting electric / electronic equipments, especially glass substrates for liquid crystal displays, are handled by laminating to each other.
