PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular impact absorbing body superior in impact absorbing performance, light-weighted, capable of securing enhanced strength and rigidity, capable of coping with various cross section shapes, and capable of exhibiting enhanced freedom degree of vehicle design by shortening a whole length. SOLUTION: This vehicular impact absorbing body is arranged between a vehicle skeleton structure and a bumper reinforcement. A part deformed in impact absorbing is constituted by a cylindrical body 5 formed by fiber reinforced resin. A peripheral wall of the cylindrical body 5 is ruptured into a plurality of parts along the axial direction and is buckle-deformed to the outside of the cylindrical body 5 when impact load is applied. A tip part 7 of the cylindrical body 5 is a tapered surface of which inner size is larger as going to the tip, and is formed to be thinner as going to the tip. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
