PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod holder of a measurement apparatus of the quantity of applied paint, which has simple constitution, with which a rod is positioned, the friction of which is minimized and with which the generation of uneven application is restrained so that paint can be applied excellently. SOLUTION: This rod holder 12 of the measurement apparatus 10 is used in a coater for coating the surface of a base material with paint and constituted so that the quantity of applied paint is measured by bringing a rod 11 into contact with the base material to be conveyed continuously while rotating the rod 11 to scrape surplus paint on the surface of the base material. The rod holder is provided with such a supporting groove 16 that the rod 11 is contact-supported to be rotated freely by a pair of supporting plates 15 arranged so that the distance between them is made wider as it goes upward.
